I understand the urge to treat this as a war, but stop it.
The first casualty of war is truth. Deception is vital against an intelligent enemy.
But deception is mad when our chief weapon is science. Science demands truth: lives depend on it.

I can& #39;t be alone in tearing my hair out when I hear ministers evading hard realities and slithering out of questions. Just say "we made mistakes, we are fixing them".
And opposition: let them say it. Just nod, and then help. Suspend politicking and be honest. We deserve it.
