I don’t know why we need to have this conversation every month but being “socialised as” a certain gender is completely different for trans people than it is for cis people. we’re being actively traumatised by the roles that are put on us.

cis people talk about us being “socialised as our assigned gender” and think that means we grow up exactly like cis people of our agab, but guess what we don’t. our childhoods are actively taken from us and the roles we have to play for survival are killing us.

so many trans people are mourning the childhoods we never had but sure, pretend like we all have the same experiences, expectations and privileges as cis people of our assigned gender. not reductive and inaccurate at all /s
