Kerala managed to flatten the #COVID2019 curve unlike most of the first world countries or other Indian states with their meticulous preparations since they identified the first patient in January.

How it was done 👇
1. Kerala started testing at a large rate from the beginning itself. The govt didn't resort to denial tactics unlike other states, where they gave false sense of security to people by not testing and identifying #coronavirus infected patients.
2. Everyone who came from abroad or other states were quarantined. They were monitored constantly with the help of health care officials and Asha workers.

3. Schools were closed very early, ignoring the protests from the opposition. Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala's speech against the govt closing schools, asking the govt to follow US model still does rounds in social media providing comic relief for Malayalis.

4. The health minister and the CM provided daily updates and answered all questions from the press, without allowing space for any kind of rumours. The absence of false info and the transparency from the govt aided a lot in people understanding the seriousness.

5. The govt used all the means available to educate people the dos and donts to prevent the spread of #coronavirus , again ignoring the opposition cries claiming that the govt is doing a PR work for themselves.
6. Started #BreakTheChain campaign, and provided handwashing faciities at many public places.

7. The healthcare workers were provided with enough PPE kits and all the patients were managed by healthcare workers following all #COVID__19 safety protocols.
8. All patients were treated in hospitals. None was left out and asked to sray at home unless they are critical.

9. #COVID care wards were setup at all dist hospitals with backup plans to handle increased number of patients.
What enabled all this to work as a well oiled machine is the dedication from the #Covid care workers and the govt. Almost 30 years of Communist rule ensured an excellent public healthcare system in the state.A
