since booze sales are an "essential service", why is there still so little harm reduction messaging around alcohol? this makes no sense to me at all

why so little harm reduction messaging around alcohol to begin with? it's a depressant, that's a fact of neurochemistry. why is this not talked about but it's socially encouraged to turn to alcohol when you feel sad? it is scientifically going to make you feel worse later
I'm nervous about the implications of mutual exclusivity of harm reduction measures. the legality and increasing availability of alcohol alongside the known effects of social isolation is alarming
