I feel like channeling some @synxiecbeta energy today, who's ready for a talk about Paladins and how there are other ways to play them?
Ok, so let me begin by saying I am a huge fan of playing Paladins so I am a little bias.

But, one thing I always see that I never understand is people thinking Paladins are "goody-goody", "narcs" or "cops"

Allow me to explain why they dont have to be any of those things /2
So, yes, Paladins usually fall under Lawful Good, and that's ok! I feel people misunderstand what "lawful" can really means in this context.

You can "lawful" by not following laws! You are a Paladin who takes an Oath you swear by. Your Oath is your "Law"!
The "laws" of the land you adventure through should not be what your Paladin bases his choices are. We've seen COUNTLESS times that laws in the real world are awful, horrific things meant to hurt certain groups of people

Why would your "good" Paladin listen to that?
Let's take a look at one Oath, Oath of Devotion Pictured below are their oaths
Look at the main things this type of Paladin would abide by.

Keeping their word, defending against injustices, having compassion, being a person of honor

Does this sound like a "cop"? Or something else?
I don't know about you, but this to me sounds like an activist!

Someone going around to fight against the systematic injustice set up by the "laws" of the governments of the world!

Let your Paladin fight for a cause, not for societies laws!
Let your Paladin be a shimmer of hope for people who are kept low by oppressive governments, let them fight against corrupt systems

LET THEM BREAK THE "LAWS"
IMO as long as you have a set of laws, codes, or tenets you follow, you can be Lawful Good, ignore "societies" laws, stick to your code, and fight the power
