Dear friends, after watching a tv ad about @paddypower games app - I downloaded on Friday Eve with a nice cold beer (not a regular gambler but hello...QUARANTINE). Imagine how happy I was when I won £19800 🎉 I withdrew the money, (or so I thought) and continued the night on
House party app with my besties! (If you know you know...like I said QUARANTINE) They couldn’t believe I just won £19800 on an PP app! (it was a little crazy but I was doing £10 spins - blame/thank the beers for that decision depending how you look at it) next morning I logged in
But it said account suspended...wait...was it all a dream?!! So I jump onto twitter and sent a DM to @AskPaddyPower because PP have no phone number, they run an annoying chat bot BUT eventually spoke to Richard maybe Dave - let’s go with Richard.
***Quick side note - apps in the UK can pre authorise you if your details match whatever system they sync with - I had a ‘success’ when registering - they then took my money with ease ***
Anyway back to Richard, So I submitted letters from HMRC, my driving license etc to them via their app to verify ID. Yesterday I got this email. Confirming proof of address but apparently they must not accept a UK driving license as a form of ID? 🤷🏼‍♂️ (god only knows at this point)
But this Richard guy said all was fine they received it and he will forward to the right team. I asked how long it would take and he said ‘no time frame but soon’.
This is where it really gets strange. I went into the app today and my account has been ‘closed’. I also got this email from @paddypower apparently they are ‘sorry’ they have closed my account on ‘business grounds’ (whatever the hell that means)
But they are ‘pleased’ (that part made me spit out my tea) to inform me that they have returned the deposited funds. Can you imagine if everyone who gambled and lost with Paddy Power asked for their funds back on ‘business grounds’. 😂
So today I sent a tweet to @paddypower they quickly tagged @AskPaddyPower they asked me to jump on to a chat with their customer services agent. Sadly, Chelsea was none the wiser what any of this means either.
So here I am, very confused. You deposit money, you click spin and apparently if you do win? They can refuse to give it to you? 🤷🏼‍♂️ My partner is livid (I think already spent the winnings in his head 😂) I’ve raised a complaint with MGA.
But I think this might be a case for Huge Boss. @joelycett. Needless to say they’ve driven me back on the beer. Happy Easter. 👍🏼 #JusticeForAnt #PaddyPowerBetterPay

I’ve just received a email out of the blue from @paddypower security team.

Apparently they sincerely apologise for the ‘automated message’ sent in error regarding account closure. 🤔

They assure me everything is ‘in order’, and have reinstated my account. 🤯
They have also reinstated my @Betfair account. 🤯
I don’t even know what to think at this stage. What I do know is there needs to be more integrity and honesty from this sector. My inbox is FULL of people who have had a bad experiences with a number of operators. What an eventful Easter weekend. 😳🤯🤣
Can I just say the response to my tweets has been OVERWHELMING. To all the people DMing me - I will respond to EVERY SINGLE ONE over the coming days (there are thousands!)

Let’s hope something positive can come out of all of this! I’ll update this thread when the funds land! 💰
