Spoiler free thoughts on P5R, yes you are seeing this again because I& #39;m a mong.
Story wise: Obviously it won& #39;t be an entirely new plot, since it& #39;s only an enhanced version, but the changes that were made were pretty well executed, without going into too much detail, of course.

Gameplay: Honestly, I feel like the game may be a bit TOO easy. It doesn& #39;t really detract from the overall experience, and the actually gameplay elements individually stand out more than OG P5, but combined, some battles that should be harder are too easy.
However, Mementos got a MUCH NEEDED overhaul and I am fucking here for it. Grinding Mementos has a purpose which is more than completing requests and endgame. Also the new dialogue is pretty fucking funny, and also isn& #39;t interrupted when open doors. I hated that in OG P5.
Pre-existing Palaces have also gotten some minor tweaks, to puzzles being changed, to new items to collect for skill purposes, and it& #39;s refreshing to see some deviation, so you& #39;re not running through the same palace from P5. Nothing major, but welcomed.
I think I mentioned this in a previous tweet, but guns are a bit OP, especially in Kamoshida& #39;s palace. You can probably kill any non-mini boss enemy in that Palace with your gun, given they aren& #39;t resist to gun damage. It& #39;s insane.
The grappling hook is a nice addition, but honestly, it& #39;s only used in extremely specific circumstances, so it& #39;s nothing to write home about.
Big fuck off Personas are also harder to summon, with the method of fusing a Treasure Demon with a meh Persona to get something powerful not working if the normal Persona is of a higher level than normal, whether that be through battle of Arcana Burst.
I like this. However, the fact that if you download the completely free DLC for it, you can get a level 90 Persona right off the fucking bat. Literally as soon as registration starts. Kinda shot yourself in the foot their, Atlus.
Also, may I add, you can summon said level 90 Persona for *FREE*
However, the other changes that have been made to the Velvet Room are great. You can get juicy items just for training, a wonderful incentive, and also you can also get a mega mighty persona if you get lucky with a new system that got added.
Social Life & Confidants:
I& #39;ll start with the 2 new characters, Kasumi and Maruki. Kasumi starts...really flatly. Like you think Haru was bad with being one-dimensional? Jesus. Thankfully, as the story progesses, she gets fleshed out and becomes a decent little character.

You could put that down to character development, but in the way it& #39;s presented, I put it down to shitty writing.
Still, it does come good in the end. I even romanced her. Don& #39;t laugh.
Now onto Maruki. With Maruki, you need to max his and Akechi& #39;s confidant to get the true ending. But honestly, it& #39;s totally worth your time. He comes off as just another quirky xd character, but he& #39;s properly down to Earth and that plus a funny nature = good character to me.
That brings me onto Akechi& #39;s confidant. It& #39;s pretty good, nothing that breaks the mold, since we already know Akechi, but the fact that it& #39;s manual in the first place is fucking amazing. Why wasn& #39;t this in OG P5????????????
-coming from someone who used to DESPISE Akechi.
The other confidants don& #39;t have any changes, apart from a few new abilities being given, so I won& #39;t really go into detail
Evolving Personas is also just not needed. Cool feature, but why?
Social Stats are easier to level up thank Christ, considering that you can still rank up some of them even if you& #39;ve been to the Metaverse and are "tired."
Still, Iwai can get fucked with his Level 4 Guts requirement.

Also forgot to mention this, but some scenes in Vanilia P5 that weren& #39;t voiced when they really should have been have been rectified. Feels far less awkward now.
Soundtrack: It& #39;s Persona. You already know that (apart from Okumura& #39;s theme), it& #39;s goated.
Oh yeah, one more thing. This might just be me, but I feel like the game is a bit too long. Took me 110 hours to complete, so it will be a long while before I do a NG+ playthrough.
Conclusion: Fucking brilliant game, I personally loved it, despite its flaws.
However, if you have already played P5, wait until Royal goes on sale before buying Royal. Considering you& #39;ve seen most of the stuff that already happens, why spend another £50 on it?

However, if you haven& #39;t played either, GET ROYAL.
