the party's HQ had no formal process for disciplinary actions, it was a mess and apparantly decided on a whim - and this was before 2015 - example Rod Liddle wasn't suspended at first due to him being friends with Ian Austin and Tom Watson

complaints about anti-travelller comments weren't taken seriously, especially if they involved councilors from the right of the party - here u have a councilor Newham joking about having the complainant address sent to him

and only in 2 of the 170 cases were actually dealt with according to the rules

also a bizarre thing that I don't understand at all

MP's like Austin and Mann would refer a member making AS claims to staff, and staff instead of investigating would email every MP and say they were asking those members to apologize instead of suspending them

and it was those emails (sent by HQ staff mind you)that Labour MPs were reacting towards in how the party wasn't dealing with AS, even though the HQ didn't do the same thing for claims of AS from other MPs - just those two
