I wonder if people genuinely don& #39;t realize that for a lot of queer women, reading wlw content may be uncomfortable bc it hits too close to home, bc it& #39;s TOO relatable to our condition and we just want some escapism. Which is why we turn to mlm content - bc it doesn& #39;t involve us.
Bc we can enjoy it w/o projecting every single one of our experiences. I& #39;d say I& #39;m at a point where I seek out wlw content but even I had a moment in Animate last year where I saw two girls in wedding dresses on the cover of a manga and teared up thinking "why can& #39;t that be me?"
I don& #39;t get that with mlm content - I can enjoy it vicariously without feeling like shit because I don& #39;t have what they have.
Though tbh even if many of us DO seek out wlw content, we soon find out how little there truly is and how it might not cater to our interests very much.

Especially in fandom spaces - a lot of female characters in media are... badly written so most people don& #39;t get attached enough to want to create or consume content about them. Many of us turn to mlm content for the sheer lack of wlw content, bc at the end of the day, gay is gay.
