1/ Yeah-I've-a-fucking-position-thread warning:

I know I've plenty of followers who won't be voting, and definitely not voting Trump. That's fine, but I will be, and today's NYT article on the Reade allegations has a lot to do with why.

2/ I'll honestly admit, I believe for anything real to change in our governance, the media, as it stands today, has to break. At best, the media we have is a poor facsimile of journalism... pretenders looking sternly into a camera, or vomiting pretzel-twists of logic onto print.
3/ The gatekeeping, the bloated personalities, the obvious ache for a status quo that maintains their power. If you want a path to any sort of future that's not more of the same, they're who you have to get past.

And nobody is wrecking the media like Trump.
4/ They've been tuned up to 11... blowing up every action, every word, every association, for more than 3 years now. Only after an explosion like Kavanaugh they find themselves having to twist and turn to back down the narrative for Joe Biden, to reset the rules.
5/ The machine has been running full tilt... we've seen signs of the smoke coming out of it. Calling for silencing Trump's press conferences, shortly after demanding he restore pressers in the first place.

Another 4 years should pretty much break it. Can't happen too soon.
6/ It's not Trump the person for me. It's the exposure of and expanding of the weak spots he seems to generate without even trying. I've said it before, he represents a shift, one that can get us somewhere that's, hopefully, better.
7/ I believe we need this to happen, and if another four years of Trump is what it takes, then that's what I'll go with.

And just to note, no, I'm not expecting you to vote Trump, or at all. That's just where I am.
