Since this is getting some buzz, let me explain to DSA folks: Yes, I want you to vote for Biden (and other Dems), just as I want Indys, non-voters & Republicans to. Hell, I'd love it ex-MAGA types did as well. 1/

HOWEVER, there's a difference between "wanting X group to vote for Biden" and "devoting resources in an attempt to get X group to vote for Biden." There's finite resources (time, money, volunteers, etc) which have to be allocated appropriately. 2/

I presume for the GENERAL election, the campaign devotes resources to target groups they think are most likely to increase voter turnout Biden/etc. in November, especially in swing states...w/some reserved for other groups in decreasing order of likelihood to turn out for him. 3/

Now, *IF* DSA had a history of a) making a big difference in competitive general election races (vs. only in deep blue primaries) AND b) policy requests for their support which wouldn't turn off too many other key voter blocs, then I'm sure Biden would be willing to talk. 4/

HOWEVER, *so far* DSA hasn't had much luck with a) (they might in the future), and b) with this single tweet, they've admitted that the only thing Biden could do to get them to vote for the Democratic nominee in November is to drop out & give it to Bernie. 5/

That's an unreasonable and unacceptable demand, so unless there's some sort of clarification or retraction, there's no point in continuing to negotiate terms for your support, since you're basically saying there's nothing to negotiate. You won't support him no matter what? OK.

Note: Biden wasn't my 1st choice. He wasn't my 2nd choice. He was about my 8th or 9th choice. My top choice was either Warren or Harris depending on when you asked me...but neither one made the cut. Biden did, so I'm supporting him. If Bernie had, I'd support him. Pretty simple.

Why would I have supported Bernie even though I've grown to dislike him (and to loathe many of his top people)? Simple: When the choice is between Nazi and Not-a-Nazi, you vote for Not-a-Nazi, period. /END
