Meanwhile, we have a press and a President obsessed with "when" we will re-open the country, with little interest in "how" that happens. Though there are now plans galore, mostly in agreement about the path forward. 2/

So, we're in a race against time. We need a massive national mobilization to scale-up testing, contact tracing, isolation, healthcare capacity, commodities and this workforce now, before social distancing starts to wane on its own or @POTUS gets bored with it. 4/

The scale-up will put thousands back to work--it's that big of an effort, industrial, logistical, operational--so it has benefits beyond disease control itself. 5/

But beyond @POTUS, there is no leadership in Congress either. Where are the trillions for the public health scale-up we need right now? Nowhere. Hello @SpeakerPelosi @SenSchumer @senatemajldr @GOPLeader? It's the clue phone and it's for you. 6/

Let's set a clock. Every day that @realDonaldTrump and our Congressional leaders fail to act on the exit plans now out there, it gets harder to see light at the end of the tunnel. 7/

So we need a mobilization for the mobilization. Reporters, writers have to focus on this with laserlike attention, citizens young & old need to be on the phone with their representatives' offices, artists/singers/TV & filmmakers need to put their art to use to spread the word. 8/
