I guess I don& #39;t understand what people want or expect from idle choreos because I& #39;ve seen a lot of really negative opinions of OMG& #39;s choreo and I don& #39;t really get them
idle has never been known for having complex or technically "impressive" choreo. They have a few important visually-evocative and memetic moves and then the rest of the dance is there to allow them to pull focus, execute the vocals and sell the performance w/ emotion
I think OMG fits these criteria perfectly. It has big killing parts like these, and I love how they integrate a bunch of members into these making them less like solo moments.
And it also sets up for moments like these where the camera can zoom in and a single member can just sell the everloving crap out of a specific emotional moment.
I also think it& #39;s just really special how well integrated the choreo is thematically with the concept, and overall presentation. I love the backup dancers. I like that the group is in this little shifting nucleus the whole time (reminds me of light my body up choreo)
I& #39;m guessing that that the people who dislike this choreo might prefer things like Uh-Oh which is just a lot more energetic. I love that one too, especially little moments like where they split into groups of three, or the Shu-Min moment towards the end that they changed around.
