You know UPS and friends can’t make up for what the post office does? I know this is hard for The Commons to understand the business model USPS falls under is a utility. That is more important than sending post cards for $0.48 across town or to Alaska. In 3 days. #SaveTheUSPS
if you think other logistics companies want the workload of usps then you got a warp idea of how anything works on this planet. You should appreciate junk mail. Just like you click on everything under the sun online thus good luck with those 80% ray-bans with the malware.
Who doesn’t like junk mail?

If you live in a redlined zip code you really don’t get junk mail. The junk mailers assume those urban zip codes are too poor and dangerous to shop from suburban retailers.

This is a true story in 2020.
If you live in ritz zip code, you getting all the junk mail you can imagine. Even free magazines. Keep sending me those renewal warning, I keep throwing them in the fire pit. And still get another year of magazines.

No pop-up malware, FB cookie jacking with reading print.
You live in ritz zip code, you get wide variety of junk mail.

14226 = junk mail city
14225 = hella junk mail
14215 = redlined
14211 = redlined
14214 = junk mail West of Main only

Who complaining about junk mail? The privileged zip code.
Rhetoric that involves shutting down the post office usually involves some schmuck bloviating about how the post office sends nothing but junk mail. This moron doesn’t realise their amazon packages and pharmaceuticals came via USPS.

Even on a Sunday.
Junk mail is they give a reason for the letter carrier to keep working. Just like delivering the phonebook. Or sending the mail via Amtrak. Everything mention seems archaic.

But it is necessary.

Look it up in the phonebook. No data tracking.
Getting rid of the post office is one of those libertarian economic ideas run afoul. Feeding into their selfish stupidity will only have you looking foolish in the end. Furthermore those clowns will be the last to get any mail or packages. Due to their distant geography.
Without the post office, you’ll be paying for people’s greyhounds rides to the big city to bring back to Obscuresville all the stuff you ordered online from around the world that USPS would of drop off to you anywhere. Now you gotta drive to the greyhound stop off I-80.

Dummy.
Without the post office, UPS and friends will be working hard to get the important places. You living in Obscureville will be relying on lose network of gig workers that isn’t even going to take your package to the last mile. Have fun going to the gas station to get your mail.
