Jan 20: 1st confirmed case of COVID-19 in SKorea
Jan 31: 700 SKorean nationals evacuated from Wuhan
Feb 4: A COVID-19 testing kit produced

Feb12: 3rd flight sent to evacuate 147 people frm Wuhan, S Korean citizens & Chinese family
Feb18: (Patient 31) is found COVID-19 positive& believed to have spread virus to 100s in city of Daegu
Feb19: central govt & KCDC sends special task force to implement control measures

Feb 21: tracking "Patient 31", the # of infections jumps to 204 (x by 6 in 3 days), w/ 16,196 people tested
Feb 22: KCDC sends a rapid response team to Daegu, conducting epidemiological investigation & environ disinfection. Daegu Shincheonji members (10,000) r monitored & tested

Feb 26: Govt opens "drive-through" testing centers, gas station-like facilities where people can be tested while still sitting in their car
Feb 29: govt says it supplied nearly 4.5 million masks via public organizations. KCDC recommends "social distancing".

March 2: Korea Post starts distributing 650,000 masks through its 1,406 post offices.
March 3: govt creates "Life treatment centers" (생활치료센터), to move patients w/ mild symptoms in every city
5th: PM Chung Sye-kyun- SKorea will ban mask exports & fairly distribute face masks

March 9: Pres Moon Jae-in states that S Korea may enter a "phase of stability"
15th: Moon Jae-in declares Daegu a special disaster zone, 1st time for reasons unrelated to natural disasters
March 22: govt decides to test all incoming travelers from Europe for COVID-19 at airports.

If the UK govt had moved with even a fraction of the foresight and competence of the govt in S Korea (by no means perfect) my family members could have been still alive. I accuse this govt of their murder
