"I know they cared for him as they would care for anybody in this country"

"The fact that more than 10,000 people have lost their lives to this invisible killer demonstrates just how serious coronavirus is and why the national effort that everyone is engaged in is so important." #StayHome

Matt Hancock has said that the resilience of the NHS was due to the record number of staff returning to the work force
He said that over 5,000 had returned to the NHS front line and over 36,000 had come forward to enlist

"If you become unwell with the symptoms of coronavirus you can securely tell this new NHS app", and this app "will then send an anonymous alert" to other users of the app who you have been in contact with

'All data will be handled according to the highest ethical and security standards and would only be used for NHS care and research and we won't hold it any longer than it's needed,' said Mr Hancock

Public Health England medical director Professor Yvonne Doyle said the number of people in hospital with coronavirus in London was stabilising
However, in the North West and Yorkshire cases are increasing

'It's impossible because the quest is to get the right PPE to the right people on the front line at the right time across many millions of people across the NHS and social care'

Matt Hancock said last week testing had been opened up for care home staff
"Some of the most vulnerable people live in care homes and especially in nursing homes and therefore getting this right is so important"

Asked if there was any guidance on when the Prime Minister could return to work, Mr Hancock said: 'He is resting. He's at Chequers, I'm delighted that he's out of hospital and he's recovered'

Mr Hancock denied the Government had been too slow to stockpile PPE earlier in the #coronavirus outbreak and said supplies had been 'significant'

Mr Hancock was asked if the 'good outcome' of keeping UK deaths below 20,000 remained likely
He said: 'The future path of this pandemic in this country is determined by how people act'
