Now that I have free time on my hands, I've started working on long overdue projects. A few years ago, I digitized all the family recordings from old reel to reels and cassettes, 8mms & VHS tapes. There was so much that never really listened to them or watched them until now. 1/
I have recordings of my great great grandmother's voice, various recordings of family gatherings which had been transfered to reel to reel from old wire recordings. I have my grandmother singing with her sisters in vaudeville from the early 1900's "the oberg trio" 2/
I have my mother singing and playing guitar and the tipple & my brother playing and singing as a little boy, me singing harmony, all of us singing songs we wrote together. 3/
I'm scrubbing thru them making notes as to what's what, where, when & getting mom and dad to fill in blanks. There's a whole series from the 60s & 70s of my mom singing folk & bluegrass music in a couple of bands and some jam sessions with people laughing & talking. 4/
..which is where this thread was leading. There is one w singing & joking, jamming, guitar riffs. Mom says in her British way "oh that's Steve Goodman. For a bit we were his warm up band in Chicago & we used to all jam together, sometimes w John Prine who discovered Steve." đŸ˜Č5/
