Shaykh 'Abdullah al Qar'aawi: An Underrated Mujadid That More People Should Know...

[THREAD]
Assalāmu 'alaykum jamee'an

I was initially a bit reluctant to do this thread as I fear any mistakes that I may make knowing my low level of knowledge, however my brother at @SunnahSauga motivated me to do this and so I will try my best. So here goes...

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Shaykh 'Abdullah al Qar'aawi is from the 'ulama that have taught some famous scholars however he himself is not as well known amongst the general people.

His name was 'Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Muhammad bin 'Uthman bin 'Ali Al Qar'aawi al 'Anazi.
The Shaykh was born in the city of 'Unayzah in 1315 Hijri on the 11th of Dhul Hijjah, a city well known for having many Ahlul 'Ilm having come from there such as Shaykh al Mashoor Muhammad bin Saalih al 'Uthaymeen

A picture of 'Unayzah today:
The Shaykh had multiple teachers, from the more well known ones are:

• Shaykh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Aalush Shaykh (1311-1389h)
• Shaykh 'Abdullah and 'Umar bin Saleem (I can only find Sh 'Umar's birth date and death date which are 1299-1362h)
• Shaykh 'Abdullah bin Manee' (1300-1385h)
• Shaykh 'Abdul 'Azeez bin Bishr from Al Ahsa
•Shaykh Ahmadullah bin Ameerullah al Qurashi Ad Dehlawi (1382-1362h)

The Shaykh travelled to many places seeking knowledge including India...
In India, the Shaykh studied at a Salafi madrassah called Madrassatul Rahmaniyyah where he studied under the aforementioned Shaykh Ahmadullah and received an ijaazah to narrate hadith that includes Al Muhaddith Nadheer Hussayn ad Dehlawi in it

Below is the Shaykh's Ijaazah
The Shaykh travelled to other countries including:

• Egypt
• Syria
• Palestine
• Kuwait
• Jordan
• Iraq

However it has been mentioned that he did not like what he found there from the Ash'ari 'aqidah. Whether he found this in all those countries I am not sure.
An amazing thing that has been mentioned about Shaykh 'Abdullah al Qar'aawi is that he only started studying later in his life. Shaykh Ahmad an Najmi (we'll mention him later) mentioned that Shaykh 'Abdullah al Qar'aawi started studying in his 30s
And yet the Shaykh became a beacon of light from which knowledge illuminated itself. The Shaykh helped establish more than 2250 schools.

A proof of the level of Shaykh 'Abdullah's knowledge and sincerity can be found in his students:

• Haafith Al Hakami (1342-1377h), the well known Rabbanni scholar that wrote books such as:

° A'laam as Sunnah al Manshoorah
° Ma'aarij al Qabool
• Shaykh Muhammad Amaan al Jaami (1349-1416h), a scholar that is loved by Ahlus Sunnah and hated by Ahlul Bid'ah with books such as:

° Al 'Aqidatul Islamiyyah wa Tarikhuhaa
° As Sifaat al Ilahiyyah
° Many shuruh (explanations) of books of 'aqidah
• Shaykh Ahmad bin Yahya an Najmi (1346-1429h), Mufti of Jazaan, who wrote books such as:

° Fath al Rabb al Ghani which is an excellent explanation of the book Sharhus Sunnah by Al Muzani
° Al Mawridul 'Adhb az Zulaal
° Many shuruh of different books
• Shaykh Abdullah Aal Bassam (1346-1423h) who wrote the books:

° Tawdih al Ahkam which is a famous sharh of Bulooghul Maram
° Taysir al 'Alaam which is a sharh of 'Umdatul Ahkaam
• Shaykh 'Abdullah al 'Aqeel (1334-1433h)
Some of the better known students of the Shaykh's students are:

• Shaykh Rabee' al Madkhali
• Shaykh Abdus Salaam bin Burjis
• Shaykh Zayd al Madkhali
• Shaykh 'Ali Naasir al Faqeehi

And many more
The Mujadid Shaykh 'Abdullah al Qar'aawi passed away in 1389 Hirji in a hospital in Riyaadh. Although Allah removed his life from his body, his fruits of knowledge still remain through his students and their students and their students. الله أكبر
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

إذا مات الإنسان انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث: إلا من صدقة جارية أو علم ينتفع به أو ولد صالح يدعو له

When a person dies his deeds stop except for 3: charity that continues, knowledge that benefits, a pious child that prays him

(Muslim)
I ask Allah to forgive me for any mistakes I've made in writing this and I ask Allah to benefit all the Muslims and guide them and keep them steadfast upon this complete religion. May Allah have mercy upon all those who have died as Muslims and may Allah have mercy upon us alive.
سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك أشهد أن لا إله إلا أنت أستغفرك وأتوب إليك.
