1. Been thinking about 'how' the logistics of enabling kids out to play safely might work. I think we need the vast resources of @RIBA , @RIASmembership , @RTPIPlanners and @RTPIScotland - every architect and planner to produce fast maps of green, public or educational spaces...
2... which could be assigned to local families for use for play at specific times. It is not ideal to 'schedule' free play like this but needs must. If an interactive map could be created which families could log on to they could see which spaces they could access and when...
3...This 'MyPlaySpace' app could allow you to register your families needs so that over-subscription could be flagged up to police so they can manage safety and text messages go out to app users (just like parking apps) to let them know where is busy before going out.
4. Families with kids under 10 could have priority, smaller spaces allocated to families with little ones. bigger spaces available to big kids over 10 who need space, trees to climb or ball play. The police could have oversight...
5. ...with council leaders. Plus schools headteachers or ground manager if school or sports fields and grounds are used. Areas already identified with high density first - no gardens and multiple storey builds. Planners you have this info at your fingers NOW!...
6. ... if we can build a 300 hospital in 20 days in Glasgow... we can build a system of play spaces and an app quicker. Police staff will be a reduced resource to employ a small army of 'park keepers' from the existing council disclosure approved staff. - Train them remotely...
