Before I start this thread lemme define what I think a Super Producer is.

A producer who takes their Genius talent and adds their genius talent to another artist's genius talent and make timeless classics. A producer who is able to have classics with other artists not just them.
Examples:

Dr Dre
RZA
Scott Storch
J Dilla
DJ Premier
Teddy Riley
Questlove
J Dilla
*Quincy Jones
*Puff Daddy
*DJ Tira (yea, you read that right)
*DJ Khalid
**DJ Maphorisa (more on him and his kind later)
Kanye West
Pharrell
Timbaland
No ID
The Neptunes
Madlib
Alchemist
Will i am.

(Definitely forgetting a few but yea. Let's use these names as a template for now)

Question: the asterisk, wassup with that?

To be a producer you dont need to actually play the instruments but need to know who is needed where and to do what.
Cool.
Wit dat said, I feel like Elaine is a super producer away from being THAT hun. Genuinely think she is talented enough that she can have a long and successful career without ever coming into contact with a super producer but I dont think her full potential will be used if so
Now, does SA have super producers?

Of course nigga, don't you listen to house music?
Willing to say that SA prolly has the highest concentration of Super Producers in House music in the whole world. No one is seeing SA when it comes to house music and it's been that for decades.
Cool.
Question: Why does Maphorisa's name have 2 asterisks. Cause Maphorisa is the one active producer (that I know of) that has given other artists their classic hits or songs (forget the sales but just good ass music) outside of the genre he is usually associated with.
...who is still super active. Niggas like DJ Sbu have done it before for years but does he count as active? I wouldn't.

Anyways why does this matter and why am I wasting your time?

P.T.O
I think Elaine, off the stuff she has shared with us, is carrying the beats she uses and they aren't carrying her yet. She is doing more of the heavy lifting and that's ok but the greats are usually not the only great things on a song and I think that's what's missing...
Thabo made me think about this and he's right.

Erykah Badu was Erykah Badu already before Questlove joined the picture.

There is Slum Village with and without J Dilla.

D'Angelo already had a classic before Questlove.

Dr Dre. (That's it)...
Anyways the artists mentioned above already had the ability within themselves before the Super Producers showed up but something happens when a Super Producer joins the picture.

Timbo legit woke up one night and said, "Hey, what if I give Nelly Furtado 2 classics just cause?"
And that's what I think Elaine needs in her corner to stand out in the international stage.

SA has fucking talent in House music there is no doubting that but how many Super Producers do we have outside that.
In RnB and Hiphop?
I'm talking about beats/production that we can proudly play in front of niggas we judge as goats from overseas and say, "This is us and we bet you y'all dont have this."

We have fucking talented hiphop producers but do we have once in a generation producers?
With that said I would argue that Anatii is prolly the one who has that potential who came originally from Hiphop, Muzi too.

Producers who trust themselves enough to ignore what's hot and release whatever they feel like.

Anatii
Maphorisa
Muzi
Feel like that 3 can take a mediocre artist and make them palatable so imagine if they run into another person with genius talent?

Now Elaine is like 22 or something so she's a child and I'm assuming her producers are around her age too so hopefully they mature into Super Ps.
To close off, I recently listened to ThandoNje's latest Album/Mixtape and my biggest takeaway was:

The pen has potential.
The voice has potential and her with a Super Producer would be special.
Someone to understand her voice the same way whoever Syd used on her album does hers.
Also this thread make me think of Skye Wanda and I got sad again.
Can someone please step and go save that girl from Oblivion.
Please and thank you.
