I like to be transparent, hopefully it's helpful. So this is going to be a thread on my oldest dynasty league and talk through the rookie draft(currently going on) and trades I've made with my thought process.

I've had lots of success in this league(had a true dynasty! 3 ships in 4 years) and made the playoffs last year, but age hit my team quickly. AB falling off out of nowhere, Jeffery as well, etc.

I needed to make some changes.(team in next tweet)

12 team dynasty start 1 QB and PPR. Fairly standard

QB: Brees, Big Ben, Trubisky, Haskins
RB: Mixon, Damien, Henderson, Howard
WR: Juju, Diggs, Jeffery, Preston, Boykin, Hurd, AB, Reynolds
TE: Henry, Gesicki, Doyle, Njoku, Cook, Graham, Burton, Knox

Looking at scoring, I needed to upgrade QB badly. Depth at RB and WR. I also needed to unload TE's because starting 2 doesn't have a benefit and I was dedicating too much roster space to them.

Operation improve QB

Trade 1

Gave: Haskins, Big Ben, 3.07
Received: Josh Allen

Allen receives a lot of hate, but he's a QB1 and much younger than Big Ben. I don't believe in Haskins as much.

Operation get rid of TE's

I looked at teams that needed TE depth and made a few offers.

Trade 2

Gave: Jared Cook, Njoku
Received: Brandin Cooks

This was prior to the Houston trade. This was a win-win. I got more WR depth and got rid of players who likely wouldn't play.

Draft started and I have the 1.07/2.07 etc. Yes, fringe playoff team.

Ceedee Lamb slides to 1.06, unsuccessful to trade up to get him.

I have a player here I really like, but I feel like gambling in this league and trading down because I think he will still be there. Eno, Tua, Hamler, Moss, DPJ are still on the board.

Feeling better about RB, WR, TE now. But still could use help at QB with Allen, Brees, Trubisky.

Attempted to trade up for Tua = unsuccessful

Got an offer for my 3.09 from someone who loves rookie picks. Just threw out a counter.

Received: Goff

The draft is still going on, but feel confident that my team is more complete, younger, and ready to compete.
