I installed 45 custom block plugins for WordPress and 21 of them added a top level admin menu. Because they're all so fucking important, right?
Further observation: 15 of the 21 menus use custom UI instead of standard WordPress UI. Varying degrees of custom colours, headings, buttons, checkboxes, radios, inputs, tabs, fonts. Very heavy per-plugin branding. And that's without even looking at the post editing screen.
I think the winner is "Easy Blocks" which uses an *animated* blue and purple background for its page header, because I guess standing out from the crowd has higher priority than consistent UX.
But who can blame them? Akismet, Jetpack, and Yoast all deviate from the standard UI with heavy per-plugin branding, so consistency can go fuck itself while we're left wondering why WordPress has a reputation for being a pile of shit.
