Thread on Kerala Emigration

Claim : We emigrate because we are educated and hence more oppurtunities outside

Reality : More than 70% of emigrants does not have a degree

Claim: We are skilled and emigrate for high end job oppurtunities

Reality: Majority of the emigrants do blue collar jobs. Only around 7% of the emigrants are engineers

Pretty clear most of the emigrants do not earn vastly higher than in India..

More to do with lack of willigness to do menial jobs in our own homeland..
