#aptoapril Transformation

I don't make major changes to myself often, but I do enjoy dabbling. The previously mentioned tailmaws or an extra set of hands. Turning into a taur was tricky by itself. I...may have forgotten to check how big I'd be against the doors in my home.
But I think my favorite is when a friend says they're in the mood for something different. In that case, I always prefer to take it slow and make sure everything goes just right. It's an all morning affair that way, but I wouldn't want to spoil their fun being careless.
Some uses potions or broad spells to do the whole body at once. I've found for me drawing out the patterns one part of the body at the time seems to work best. It's slow, but gives plenty of time to get used to things as we go. IT also means they don't have to sit still for hours
I usually start with the legs. Getting your balance can take a while so that gives them the most time to work on walking as we take breaks between changes. With a tail or two around them for balance, it's always neat helping them take those first slow steps.
There's a certain excitement people always get when things start to click and they can make it across a room without stumbling. Until then? I'll stay close to catch them. A tumble means falling into soft fur, not a hard floor. The change itself is a bit of an experience.
It feels like the limb has been plunged into warm mud at first. Warm and thick and slick. The change starts inside and works out's way out. You can't really move them limb at first, but things start to stiffen and flex over a minute or so. First tense a muscle, shift the leg...
Until you can bend it properly as things flow and settle before finally giving back fine control. After legs we start working our way up. The next step is the tail. Gentle sweeps of a brush up and down the whole length. For those without, it's a little different.
The patterns start about midway down their back and go all the way to the end of the tailbone at first, but that's just the start. Once it's in place it makes a sort of magic structure attached where the pattern's ended. After that it's weaving a tail in the air out of ink.
It's that way for any new limbs and it's a bit more of a sensation in that case. People always start to wiggle so much once the change starts. Adding extra sensations is just a very different feeling for people. Not bad mind. Just new.
And up it continues from there. Steady gentle tickles and then nice warmth over a chest, down the arms. Time spent on any other new additions. Wings are tricky, but always fun. I have to get some help in those cases. Just moving them is one thing, but they need a teacher to fly!
The head is always last and perhaps the most emotional. Even through all the changes that have already happened, there is something very unique about looking into a mirror and seeing a different face looking back. For some it's neat. Like putting on a mask. For some it's jarring.
I have had instances were we undid everything right away. Happily it's just a matter of washing the dye out with special soap. A couple of times? I've ended up curled up around someone sobbing and just holding them close. Changing yourself can mean many things. To some it's fun.
For others? You may start to see things very differently. So that's how it's going to work. Now. I've got everything we'll need here. Just what you do you want to see today?
