a /controversial/ insight into the mr robot fandom; a thread
DISCLAIMER: no one owns this fandom. contents of this thread are OPINIONS from some fandom members and are NOT facts! i wont be mentioning names so if you feel offended by anything stated here, thats not my issue. this might be long.
firstly, its a fandom for a fictional tv show. although, that doesnt stop some of the fans taking it too seriously. secondly, it consists of ships such as tyrelliot, domlene, angelliot and tyrobot. (if i& #39;ve forgotten any ships or got the names wrong tell me pls i got baby brain)
so, lets start with the actual fandom itself; it& #39;s currently "split" into sections and "cliques" of who ships who. this is because some people dont agree with certain ships. well, thats what it started as anyway. its now become clear the drama in the fandom isnt JUST about ships-
- anymore. it& #39;s gotten personal with a few people taking it way too far. the biggest drama comes from the tyrelliot fans and the domlene fans disagreeing with each other. this includes subtweets, anonymous hate and mutual blocking between BOTH parties.
im not going to state who started what because the fact is, its been going on for far too long to find that out. there are extremely toxic people from both sides of the ships. some domlenes are extremely aggressive and feel like they own the fandom, whereas some tyrelliots are-
- also aggressive and go about defending their ship in a bad way. this has resulted in weekly, if not daily, drama between these people. im also going to state that there are hardly (probably none) innocent people in ANY of this. everyone has either been involved with or started-
- some sort of drama in a way. there have been certain people who have excluded and bullied people into leaving the actual fandom itself and not just the ships. now for the actual Tea

some of you are grown adults arguing with children. some of you indirect people first in hopes of getting a reaction, and when you do, you cry about it. some of you are so hypocritical its insane. some of you can hand out hate but cant take it back. some of you are gross.
now im gonna dissect each ship fandom into good/bad things about them. if you cant accept the fact you have done bad things, you are part of the problem. once again, i wont be naming names so you guys can associate which line is for which person. thats on you all now.
lets start with the tyrelliots; they know what is wrong with the characters they ship and they know the pros and cons with their ship. some of them dont know where the line between defending and bullying is. some of them do not react when they are provoked. most of the time they-
- are making jokes about the characters they stan and the ship itself. i have PERSONALLY not seen a tyrelliot i& #39;ve had problems with. whether it be personal or over a ship. yes, i have argued with tyrelliots in the past but we& #39;ll get to that later. overal, tyrelliots are nice.
now the domlenes; i was a domlene stan for a few years so i know a lot more about that side of the fandom than i do about tyrelliots. that also means i have seen a lot more toxicity from some of them but im going to base the following opinions from these past few weeks...
some of them indirect and act shocked when people are mad at them. some of them act like they invented fandoms. yes, there are a select few domlene stans who are good nice people. but just like any ship, its ruined by the most vocal toxic ones.
overall, everyone just needs to stop getting in everyone elses damn business all the time. when you indirect people, you better believe people are going to come at you. when you hurt someone, you cant just expect them to stay quiet (& you can& #39;t just tell them to not get offended)
ESPECIALLY if you are an adult. the amount of childish pettiness from people who are GROWN is astonishing. just let people ship who they want, make jokes about their ship and leave them tf alone. but if you say some shady bs, expect people to call you out on that too.
people are ALLOWED to be hurt and offended by things. people are allowed to be mad at how a show ended or how their fave was portrayed. you do NOT get to tell that person how they should and shouldnt feel and you do NOT get to police a fandom just because they disagree with you.
if you want to continue to create drama, you go right ahead. just dont expect people to let you get away with it. some of y& #39;all need a SERIOUS reality check because it& #39;s goddamn embarrassing.
in conclusion, dont be such hypocrites. dont make rules for others to follow. dont gatekeep the fandom. dont invalidate how people feel. dont act like fucken kids. if u have any serious questions, divert them to my cc or dms and i will answer. thanks.
