Please don’t send us a note about how we can be “more efficient with order processing: no handwritten notes, no wrapping, no stickers”. Our goal has never been (and will never be) to be a faceless processing center for fabric, yarn, and notions. We are not robots. /1
We are actually real people who love making things. We love talking to people about making things. We love teaching people to make things. We want to connect with others who make things. We fucking care so much about making things. /2
Do you know how hard it is not to write actual letters to some of the people who have ordered over the last month? “Oh my gosh, Debbie, it’s been years! How are you? I’m sorry you are making masks right now but I hope you are surrounded by beautiful fiber and also knitting.” /3
“Chris, what will you do with these lovely shades of blue? Wish we could chat in person! Will this be a blanket? Your blankets are always so gorgeous!” Or times we’ve all said, “I wish I knew if these things were all for the same project! These needles don’t go w/this yarn!” /4
We cannot wait to see people again. To help them select their next project on @ravelry . Walk them through how to take their measurements. Sit down and demonstrate our sewing machines. So if you don’t like how we wrap your fucking package DONT SHOP FROM US.
And yeah, we know over half the people who have shopped online. And we are so grateful for their love and support. We miss you. And I’m so tired of the shitty people who just can’t say anything nice. (Yes @stockinettest , I wanted to send you a letter.) /end
