I took these pics at a beach in #Sitges #Barcelona (before quarantine). I'd been reading @lucy siegle 's book "Turning The Tide On Plastic" & suspected they were #nurdles. I spent hours gathering them - it didn't make a dent in it which is heartbreaking. 1)
As an artist, I'm drawn to the perversity of the visuals - beautiful & deadly at the same time. (You can see bird's footprints following trail of what they think is food). I've kept the nurdles (& other #microplastic & waste) in a bag at home until I know what to do with them.2)
I planned to make something with them - a way of raising awareness. I've since discovered that they can be a source of E. coli. Could anyone tell me if that's correct please? 3)
If so, how could I clean them? Is it safe to make something with them? Last thing I want is Ecoli while avoiding C19.
