I saw a tweet about how craft beer is being affected by this pandemic and social distancing efforts. I wanted to know more so I did a little digging:
Just this week, Stone Brewing laid off 306 workers (roughly 30 percent of its work force).

They aren't the only ones. Two recent surveys asked brewers what they've seen so far and what to expect in the coming months. It doesn't look good
-90% have already seen negative impacts to their sales
-95% didn't expect sales to improve over the next few months
-30% of brewers had to stop production altogether
-61% said their production schedule had slowed down
-46.4% said their businesses will likely only last between one and three months
-12.7% could stay afloat for just another one to four weeks.
- 8.3% between six months and a year
- 5.1% would be able to stay in business a year
- 2.5% of respondents said they were planning to close
Why is this important?

The beer industry is a huge revenue stream. ex. Michigan's brewing industry generates $2.4 billion in revenue and creates over 17,000 full-time jobs

2nd, It'll lead to more consolidation. The top 3 beer manufacturers already control 75% of the market
I guess the point of this thread is don't forget about the brewers in your city. They've worked hard. They make your life better. Support them, if you can, during this challenging and uncertain time. Tip big.
