Reminder that this is what happen when you get into leftism without killing your own national myths
Like, this straight up ties into the narrative that the US are somehow the underdog pioneer compared to the snouty europeans. Which is 100% a nationalist narrative and has no real basis in reality. But since it's a narrative that elevates the working class (cont)
A lot of (Mostly white) US leftists fall into that trap, thinking of themselves and the US as somehow more proletarian in nature than other western countries.
Also noteworthy to add, let's not fall into the opposite trap of thinking that europe is enlightened and progressive compared to bad capitalist US. We're absolute garbage too.
Just as bad if not worse in some aspect
I see a lot of people commenting by bringing up the French revolution as an example of Europeans having working class culture. The French revolution isn't a proof that France has a working class culture, France existing is proof enough that it has one. Like every other countries.
As far as I know, there are workers in every countries.
I don't like this argument, France isn't a country with working class culture because it had a revolution. All countries have working class culture and they're all equivalent, if each with its own difference, in quality.
