The scene in TLJ where Leia touched the Force to save her life hit me harder emotionally that any other scene in theaters (even over Yoda!) because I’d spent years and years wishing Leia could be a Jedi too. In the EU she finally did after DECADES. It meant so much to me. 1/
So, Jedi Leia in TRoS (even if it’s “out of no where”, even if it “ignores the books”) made me HAPPY. We finally saw that There Is Another. 2/
I know her journey as a Jedi gets a lot of criticism with why she stopped. That I understand. But she is a Skywalker, yeah? And freaking out and making a rash choice about the Force over a vision is simply the single most Skywalker thing she could possibly do. 3/
I know not everyone sees it this way, and ymmv. I’m not saying you’re wrong. I’m saying to me it finally feels like Leia is included in the family. And *yes* she’s an Organa too. Being a Jedi doesnt detract from that at all. Bail was the trusted friend of Obi-Wan! (Of *Ben*) 4/
The Organas would have been proud to see Leia reach Force potential. Padme (who *married* a Jedi) would have been proud! Honestly it’s not just the Skywalker boys who get to be like Anakin. Leia can learn and grow from *all* of her families. 5/5
