Why I didn& #39;t vote for Hillary and will not vote for Joe:
The 1994 crime bill.
In April of 1994, I had my first son. I was 18, his dad was 17. In September of 1994, his dad turned 18. In October of 1994, he was charged with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to sell. 1/8

We didn& #39;t have the money to bail him out. He sat in jail for his son& #39;s first Christmas. My gramma decided he wouldn& #39;t miss our son& #39;s first birthday, and she gave her house to the bail bondsman as collateral. He was sentenced to 2 years and 1 day. 2/8
He was to report after our son& #39;s birthday. He was given the chance to go to work camp. Work camp was a 6 month program. He served this time, at the age of 18, in prison. While Clinton and Biden vilified us, we were just trying to survive the world they had given to us. 3/8
We were kids. Thrown in a system that was set up for our failure. We were called superpreditors instead of given support. We were fighting for our lives in a world that didn& #39;t care if we lived or died. Biden exacerbated our problems and had no remorse. 4/8
My life was directly affected by their lack of compassion. When you have a war, there are always casualties. The war on drugs and the war on gangs created an entire generation of men who would carry the label of a felon from 18 to 28 everywhere they went. 5/8
That label made sure we didn& #39;t have secure housing, it made sure he couldn& #39;t get jobs, it made sure of a high recidivism amongst our friends. An entire generation was decimated and I watched it happen. I lived it. My kids felt the brunt of it. 6/8
This is not the only reason I will not vote for Joe Biden, but I shouldn& #39;t have to have any other reason. The cruel thing is, I have many more reasons. Because coming from poverty, my life was expendable. My husbands life was seen only as a slave for the prison system. 7/8
