I struggle with lichens with soralia at the lobe tips - are they hood-shaped, lip-shaped etc. Tentatively ID'd these as Hypogymnia physodes (left) and H. tubulosa (right) because of the split lobe tips. But not at all confident... @obfuscans3 @BLSlichens ?
The LH one doesn’t have flattened lobes with turned up ends, but quite erect lobes like H. tubulosa. And the one on the right could just be immature so soralia haven’t split. So could be the same. Aarghh. Physcia adscendens/tenella are another tricky pair for me
Btw I don’t normally collect big chunks like this! They were on a recently broken-off branch
