Hard to be proud of being Kuwaiti when I know how disgusting most people are. What a shame.
Being Half Kuwaiti and not looking like a typical Kuwaiti gave me the unfortunate opportunity to be discriminated by my own people. MY OWN PEOPLE.
What’s making me write this is because my mother— an old lady, had to go through it today at the supermarket. She got discriminated for being Filipina, and got called names. No one dared to help her with bagging. She asked for a trolly & no one would give her one.
All this done by the volunteers. How embarrassing to have these people work in the supermarkets.
My mother did everything from bagging, grabbing the trolly and putting the food in the car. These volunteers gave priority to Arab to looking people. All she wanted was help with bagging and a trolly.
My mother, siblings and I went through this our whole lives. So I have the right to talk about this.
My mother’s heart hurts. She’s really hurt. It’s so disgusting and embarrassing to have my own people do this to ANYONE.
Discriminate my siblings and I, we can handle it. But not my mother. My mother is old. She’s so upset. Just let her be. why does she have to keep going through this?
I flaunt the fact that I’m half Filipino. This is why. Because I’m tired of the stereotypes and discrimination. I’m tired of the disgusting comments I get. The things we get shouted at when we’re out in public. I want it to end.
YOURE EMBARRASSING YOURSELF. YOU ARE THE REASON WHY KUWAITIS HAVE SUCH A BAD IMAGE IN OTHERS EYES. STOP IT.
You know what’s even horrible? Apparently the boys calling her names and threatening to bring her to jail (😂😂😂) was apparently around my brothers age (21). And they act like that? Like an uneducated kid, raised with no respect! wallah that’s so embarrassing😂
