Do you know those people who only call us when they need help?

I’d grown tired of one of those and told her, a mother of two, to never call me if all she ever calls for is money.

Yesterday, she called to say hi, then dropped the call and sent a text to ask for money. I ignored
I was totally prepared to ignore that woman when I listened to @SympLySimi’s “Remind me”, where she talked about doing everything for her baby, but ignored a stranger who needed shoes.

It hit me badly.
It was God speaking to me, because earlier in the day, I’d sent money to a family member who didn’t ask, just because.

But whatever I thought about this woman, she had two hungry children. What about them?

I played that song again and it was overcome with guilt.
I couldn’t help thinking about those times I went without calling on God just to say hi, but once trouble came, I’d run to him and expect forgiveness.

But here I am with a little power - I could help and it would not stres me - but what do I do?

So I helped that woman.
We often don’t realise when we’ve become cynical and stray from who we are.

The world will do what the world does, but happiness is personal. If you find joy in helping those in need, don’t let the world take that from you.
