Quick word to the left about the internal Labour A/S report business. It does not show that there was no antisemitism within Labour, that levels of antisemitism were a hoax, or were not extensive, or that there was not a problem to be dealt with. >
It does (apparently) show that the antisemitism which does exist was cynically exploited & weaponised against Corbyn by those ideologically opposed to his politics, to the extent of undermining disciplinary procedures & undermining Corbyn's efforts to understand & address it. >
The report will be overlooked & forgotten about by the media, but the lesson *we* should take from this is that there are forces within Labour who are so cynical & amoral that they will actively tolerate & even propagate racism & hatred in pursuit of ideological objectives.
Please do not respond to this by tweeting / saying "See, I told you this antisemitism stuff was all made up." It wasn't, it isn't, it remains a serious problem, and *we* should continue to care about it even - or especially - now that everyone else will forget about it. /ENDS
