[THREAD]Charles Leclerc won his first Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. The last time a driver won their maiden Grand Prix at Spa was Michael Schumacher in 1992. Here are some interesting similarities that I found on the internet the other day:
Both drivers won their first Grand Prix at Belgium in their second season in Formula 1. Both had failed to finish their first Belgian Grand Prix due to issues on the opening lap.
In second place was the World Championship points leader, Nigel Mansell. (Hamilton for Leclerc) Both drivers are British, utterly dominated the season, and had 8 wins until that point.
In third place was the championship points leader’s teammate, Riccardo Patrese (Bottas for Leclerc). Both drivers were second place in the championship and had 5 career wins at that point.
In 4th place was Michael Schumacher’s teammate, Martin Brundle (Ferrari teammate Vettel for Leclerc)
Britain’s Johnny’s Herbert retired on the final lap after an engine failure, but was classified as he had completed %90 of the race. The same happened with Lando Norris in the 2019 race, also from Britain.
