#COVID__19 in the Philippines. Travel ban was imposed 33 days after the first reported case. Luzon-wide quarantine was imposed at 43rd day. The effect of this ECQ should be observed around 14 days after, but number of cases is affected by backlogs and increased testing capacity.
The trend in daily number of new reported cases SEEMS to be flattening, which is good. BUT, we still need to be on high alert in the next few days. With testing capacities now increasing, we will hopefully have more data.

Black line here again reflects ECQ implementation.
What we should be doing now is increasing our health system capacity. #RaiseTheLine by protecting healthcare workers with PPEs and testing, increasing hospital capacity for severe/critical patients, and building more quarantine facilities for mild patients to deload hospitals.
For the public, continue to #FlattenTheCurve by staying at home. PLUS, actively participate in contact tracing activities to ensure that those who need to be placed in quarantine are done so. Report to your local BHERTs if you're feeling symptoms, for monitoring and advice.
There's still a lot to be done, but we all have a role to play, and we can all contribute something to fighting #COVID19 in our country. #covid19philippines
