I’m finding this “if Boris is healthy then so is the country” narrative weird and scary. I’m very glad he’s on the mend. But over 5000 People died here this week and many many more are going to die yet. I think that’s vastly more important than one man.
I’ve been reminded the death toll here will most likely hit 10,000 today.

I’ve also just read a story in the DM about hospitals here running out of body bags.

But, in the same paper, there’s a story about how Boris has got better because he “believes he’s invincible"
There’s another story, the basic gist of which is, because one man in charge got an illness during a pandemic, we’re sort of supposed to forget that we’re on course for the worst mortality rate in Europe. I have no idea what these journalists are doing.
