I know 2020 has been just a non stop sequence of monkeys clenching fists but man I did /not/ anticipate this being the way we started moving power back out of the fed and into states
anyway the federal position of "let the governors figure it out" means that the governors can should and, i strongly suspect, ultimately will use martial force to at minimum prevent federal seizure of state property and, less likely, start seizing federal property in their state
straight up there is no way to come out of this year thinking the federal government has any legitimacy as a seat of power. and don't get me wrong – I am /deeply/ terrified of what the consequences of that will be for every disenfranchised person, esp in red states
the fed does a lot of heinous shit that the states probably couldn't do themselves – like sustained invasions – but it also provides some level of enforced equalization. we've already seen ten years of states resisting federal quality-of-life standards.
the collapse of federalism will be as equal as everything else in this country: not at all, and disproportionately hurting those who can least bear it
here we go babey, it's a new colonial congress https://twitter.com/govmurphy/status/1249765507131232257
what if we dissolved 😳 the eurocolonial regions

and we were both citizens of the restored native nations

haha jk… unless?
alright! yeah! great lakes you're up next! https://twitter.com/emily_hoeven/status/1249777564563804160
you KNOW salt lake city is digging up a cache of desert flags right now. the budding nation of Pacifica appears to require beachfront property as a membership stake, so idaho and nevada are ripe to be taken up by the west israel project
post your favorite "fantasy fractured states" teams here lads let's put all those "regions of the us" practice shitposts to WORK
DESERET flags, don't autocorrect me
not taking questions at this time, thanks
I have an unlabeled template with just the Good Borders, if anyone wants to try their hand at it
i've decided to take one question
ALRIGHT HERE WE GO https://twitter.com/crainschicago/status/1250848248694177792
the federal government is not a legitimate power, exhibit yet another one https://twitter.com/dwallacewells/status/1251857121773314052
a stupid addition to the game but it is what it is https://twitter.com/alfred_twu/status/1252277280904101895
back on topic https://twitter.com/kathrynw5/status/1255922620832329729
(austin powers voice) do i make you anti-federalist, baby, yeah
the american experiment was not in democracy but in how long it takes to destroy the westphalian national state, by moving all military and currency powers into a central core and then torching it while all actual governance remains local https://twitter.com/sahilkapur/status/1256275992978604032
hey other than "dc can into the union", what's been up with this plotline lately? feel like we kinda dropped it https://twitter.com/arrdem/status/1276701711956992000
oh right, in the time since I stopped adding to this thread we also discovered that cities and counties are /also/ illegitimate governments, because every police department in the country started rioting and refuses to be controlled by elected administrations
dear future self: also keep in mind that governors have also been abdicating responsibility left and right in their plague rules
