Ojo carries loads at Apapa port during the day & supplements it with okada riding at rush hours in the evening. Gov& #39;t announced a ban on Okada in Lagos, & Ojo has to feed his 2 girls, 1 boy, wife, & drop some money for his parents. Pressured, Ojo starts following a troupe that
promised him anything; at all at all. His troupe tells him to toughen up as they snatch purses during at night. Ojo& #39;s suspicious wife asks him what his new job is, but he beats her instead for questioning him. She is ungrateful for how he& #39;s been bringing food home. He goes out
in the evening with that anger. On his way to meet his troupe, Ojo is picked up by Police for loitering & his troupe comes to bail him a week after. Ojo comes out to hear about lockdown. His children are starving. His troupe is waiting for loyalty to be returned. They sit one
evening & talk angrily about how Gov& #39;t is sharing money but it is not getting to them. Ojo mentions a middle class boy who raped a girl but was bailed the day he got to jail because his parents can afford it. His troupe laments hunger & angry wives with crying children.
Ojo doesn& #39;t say no when they say they& #39;ve procured arms to rob the middle class. After all, nothing is fair in Nigeria. Everyone is trying to keep their family safe.
There are other Ojos in different parts of Nigeria. They are coming out. We have paid for security with tax,
There are other Ojos in different parts of Nigeria. They are coming out. We have paid for security with tax,
we have paid for good governance with blood. We have asked for better policing with sweat.
But we have to come out, burn tyres, hold bottles, and wield sticks to protect ourselves from Ojo, our neighbour, who is only equipped to rob us, but never the upper political class.

Ojo is Nigeria.
