"NO CHRISTIAN CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!!"

So read the caption to the YouTube video I stumbled on this morning. It was a question by a renown Islamic scholar. He said,

"Show me in the Bible where Jesus Christ said I AM GOD"

Back in 2013 a Muslim neighbor said to me,

"Show me in the Bible where Jesus Christ said "I am God's Son or I am the Son of God", and I will convert right now!"

I couldn't!

I believed it existed but I couldn't find it. That made me go deep into my Bible from page 1!

But I must admit that Jesus didn't need to. Why?

Because that's not why He came! That wasn't His mission!

So many times He'd warn His disciples sternly not to reveal His identity as the Messiah, the Son of God, nor reveal the works UNTIL HE WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD(noteworthy)

Why?

An identity that even demons testified to merely at the sight of Him? (See Mark 5)

Was it because He really was not the Son of God? Or Divine?

Was He trying to play hide-and-seek?

Why then?

Stay with me...

We must be intelligent to ask the right questions.

Another time Jesus asked "Who do men say I Am?"

Why? What was the importance of that question to Him?

And again you see that after Peter reveals His identity, Jesus blessed Him & ordered them not to tell anyone. Why???

In another instance, they asked Him "if you're the Messiah tell us!"

Why didn't Jesus just jump in & say, Yes na

Rather, He wouldn't give them the answer THE WAY THEY WANTED IT.

He knew they weren't asking to learn about Him but seeking an occasion to gainsay & burlesque.

Now let me answer the question:

Why did Jesus conceal His true identity until He was raised from the dead?

This shows us firstly, that we'll be remiss to conclude the true identity of Jesus as God or as Lord, only based on what He said about Himself while He walked the earth.

Secondly, He came on a Mission: to pay the penalty for man's sins through His death.

Had His true identity be known by the Jews they would have venerated Him & won't kill Him!
That would jeopardize His mission!

For had they known they would not have crucified the Lord of glory!

After Jesus was RAISED FROM THE DEAD, & after He had sent the promised Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost,

Peter revealed the long hidden identity of this Jesus to all men! For the 1st time!

He said,

"God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord & Christ" Halleluyah

When you read further in all of Peter's preaching about Jesus Christ, he always emphasized a vital point: "WE'RE WITNESSES OF THIS.."

Witnesses to what?

He referred to Jesus Christ as:
"The Holy & Righteous One"
"Author of life"
"Prince & Saviour"
"Judge of the living & dead"

Now I want you to note these terms by GOD ALMIGHTY Himself & it's fulfilment in Jesus.

"You're My WITNESSES, my servant WHOM I HAVE CHOSEN, that you may know & BELIEVE ME.. THAT I AM HE..apart from me there's no SAVIOR.
I have DECLARED & SAVED.
YOU'RE MY WITNESSES THAT I AM GOD"

Now compare it to the words of Jesus Christ.

Jesus literally means "The Lord saves", He has Saved & He is the Savior.

YOU'RE MY WITNESSES THAT I AM GOD

GOD doesn't exist to prove Himself, we exist to prove God! #RPN

We're His witnesses, those to whom He revealed Himself.

So you want to know if Jesus is God?
Ask Peter, ask Paul the Apostle, ask John the Beloved, ask the Apostles! Ask the Christian!

"Flesh & blood did not reveal this to you", it's by the Spirit of God. Not arguments, not books!

We have the Spirit God! We're His Witnesses!

"Except you embrace the salvation of God through Jesus Christ, in your best moral state you're an enemy of God.

Jesus came to save us from the Wrath of God (See John 3:36)
