Contrarianism isn’t as EDGY as it was at school; it doesn’t set you apart remarkably as more perceptive or as an authentic speaker of the truth; it’s mainly annoying, and about feeling diminished by communal practices, or being unprepared to do the work required to cohere.

So much “cool” is just contrarian stance-taking, and it’s very boring and I’m not saying ASSIMILATE ASSIMILATE just like you don’t have to be a dick to be liked.

How tedious to see artists and writers mistake being self consciously autré or “provocative” for avoiding cliche and being original in their thinking and approach. It’s not conservative to seek nuance or complexity within the correlate or commonly reduced.

There are violent conservative ideologies at play, and normative misconceptions that require endless critique so don’t appropriate the radicalism of those struggling against such ideologies as a general mode, or style of punk posture ffs. Anyway, gripey gripey have a grand day.
