a short thread about why i love joy’s cover of “greatest love of all”.
disclaimer: this is how I feel about her cover. please don’t be ignorant and say something that goes against my thread. if you don’t like it, keep scrolling.
firstly, we all remember how at one point joy lost so much confidence in her voice but then in 2016 she drops this cover that goes completely out of her comfort zone and it was nothing but pure beauty. her vocals are gorgeous and she embodied that cover with so much passion.
“i believe that children are our future. teach them and they will lead the way.” this is the first few lines in the song, and it reminds me of how joy thinks fondly of kids and how she wanted to be a teacher. joy loves the innocence of children and how they think.
with that thought, the song is also talking about how we, the adults, are role models to our kids. that they need love just as they need structure. joy is an amazing listener and is realistic af (as we can see through her lysn cmnts) making sure that people love themselves first.
this also reminds me of during rookie/pre-debut days where people would b*dy shame her yet with all that negativity, she grew throughout the years and matured greatly. not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually.
although with how much she grew, she still remained humble and lives how she believes. she has achieved so much from the rookie days and she is free from the negativity. through her eyes you could see nothing but pure love, hope and well joy. so proud of her for that.
joy is a strong and and determined woman and is everything and more in this universe. she’s a solid example of growing from that “lonely place” within us and finding your strength through love and light.
she is a reminder that we are our greatest love of all and we should NEVER forget that. i am so happy that we get to share this journey with her.
