Ok so actually I kinda wanna talk bout #DeathStranding for a minute.

I'm not sure I'd recommend playing it during a pandemic unless you're emotionally ok.

One of the game's main themes is loneliness, and to that end, it's crushingly lonely at times. 1/
A lot of the reviews of #DeathStranding mention the loneliness. Most I've seen reference the environment, but it's the whole experience. You can go 10-15 hrs without hearing someone talk.

When you do, your character is gruff and awkward to them. Almost a silent protagonist. 2/
It's almost a joke to cast Norman Reedus but give him barely any lines. But the silent protag thing distances you from everyone else even more.

Everywhere you go in #DeathStranding is empty of people. You get your missions from holograms of ppl inside bunkers. 3/
There are two kinds of bad guys in #DeathStranding.

One is a group of crazed former couriers. They wear masks with orange eyes and attack as soon as they see you. Remind me of Tusken Raiders.

The strand ppl, BTs, are either formless blobs or barely visible humanoids.

And yes, the environment is moon-like, beautiful in its devastation.

All of this comes together to make #DeathStranding an exponentially lonely game. If you've been craving human contact, this game definitely won't help. It's like depression-level lonely.

Caution advised. 5/
The only reason I made this thread is bc #DeathStranding is on sale right now, in the top row, next to NBA 2K20. While it is a good time waster, it's not for everyone.

God of War was also a lonely journey, but at least you had Atreus. DS is just bam, bam, bam. #DepressionSim 6/x
