just my opinion but. i really like the backrooms concept but i think this would be scarier without the last line. for some reason i find the idea of wandering endlessly until you die of dehydration to be scarier than a random monster

the idea of noclipping into an infinity of identical yellowing carpeted rooms is to me scariest if it’s completely and truly deserted because i think it implies a sheer purposeless to its existence that i find frightening. if theres a monster you can rationalize it as a trap

and being monster food implies that there’s a Reason for you being there even if it’s just “to get eaten”. the idea of you literally just wandering desperately until you die of natural causes and never seeing another soul or understanding anything is extremely creepy to me
