okay I& #39;m doing it! I& #39;m 1 minute 12 seconds into CATS and so far I LOVE IT of course there are no cats yet, just gorg London hotels in moonlight and the thrilling Universal opening fanfare.
Okay! First thoughts (I have no experience w Cats outside listening to Memory)...

Okay if the rest of this movie is *at least as good* as this opening number, I& #39;m gonna like it. I really liked that! Tell me it stays like this! Like sorta-nonsense Killers-like lyrics that don& #39;t really make sense but is just strange enough to be captivating.
okay full disclosure I& #39;m extremely turned on by these cats
In *particular* this Cat that Amazon tells me is named "Munkustrap" which also sounds hot. This MIGHT be mostly a product of the quarantine.
basically we& #39;re in Cats Middle Earth-London & plot is they pick a Cat to "go into the west" & become a Cat Elf...which they call Jellicle...& it all takes place at a ball where they decide who the winner is. That& #39;s fine! Our religion is weird, it figures Cat religion is weirder!

So...There were some pretty bad sequences in this. BUT on the WHOLE? I enjoyed it & the parts I really enjoyed made it worth it, & I appreciate that it was determinedly itself.
One cannot say this is "bad" or "good"...CATS is...INEFFABLE
