@AlexWassabi lowering your expectations and settling will make you temporarily happy but in the long term you won’t be. But there is no such thing as the perfect person. The right person however will meet you halfway in compromise and you both will choose each other daily.
It’s important to remember that you can’t fix somebody or make them whole and vice versa. You’re just meant to be their support system but not their savior. You’re at a age where you should def have standards but the right ones & not something like she won’t make turtle noises https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😂" title="Face with tears of joy" aria-label="Emoji: Face with tears of joy">
Was watching Liane’s video about how she’s been doing since her breakup with Don and what she said here about being a whole person is key. You should have high standards but also have them for yourself as well & be accountable.
Also since we are in quarantine you might have the time to listen but this big mood podcast with the JK girls is great as well. Applicable to both women and men. Some diff perspectives and all just turned 30 or early 30s so in your wheelhouse https://youtu.be/vKi26ofr8Mg ">https://youtu.be/vKi26ofr8...
I know esp since we are stuck at home and left with nothing but our thoughts it’s easy to just want to settle just to have someone. But there is a difference between being complacent and being content. Being complacent just leads to unhappiness, resentment and regret.
So there’s nothing wrong with expecting certain things from your partner but those things you should expect from yourself as well. Happily ever afters happen but understanding that it won’t always be great. It’s the right person tho that makes the hard times worth the fight
To keep it light idk what happened between y’all but those babies would have been beautiful lol jk. Maybe I’m biased bc she’s Filipina but she’s the prettiest girl you’ve ever dated so good job. I think you’ll be just fine. Hang in there.
