Growing up I just assumed nobody had a bunch of little debbie snacks in their house either and as an adult I& #39;m realizing I have a very narrow understanding of nostalgic treats
The fact that some of yall frequently ate zebra cakes is absolutely apeshit like a parent actually picked those up off a shelf and bought them so you could eat them and this happened frequently..
I didn& #39;t even know what a cosmic brownie was until like 2 weeks ago

Zebra cakes look like they& #39;re made entirely of playdough. Yall eat these willingly????
Oh wig hold up I did have one little debbie food I ate sometimes as a kid. My grandmother always bought gingerbread men around Christmas and I would eat their legs and arms before I ate their heads
The real "grew up poor" food response I have now though is I Always Always Always have pecan swirls in my house bc they& #39;re my favorite but were too expensive when I was little so I only ate them like 2, maybe 3 times.
If I can afford pecan swirls, then I& #39;m doing good.

Little debbie makes pecan swirls but they don& #39;t taste as satisfying as the brand sold in gas stations that come 6 to a tray.
The LD aisle was like a trained blindspot as a kid so I only saw the gas station swirls bc they were in the candy aisle I could pick suckers from.

This thread is just the result of me biting into my second cosmic brownie and wishing I& #39;d bought more pecan swirls instead
