Where a Common Bank Staff is providing Banking services as well as given duty to manage crowds for #SocialDistancing like Police.

24 March #LockDown Announced by Govt, Next Day, Bank managment asked Branch staff to work with 50% strength to maintain social distancing.

Even at state level SLBC decided to open few branches on alternative days to limit movement & support Govt decision.

Next day on 26th March, Govt announced the #PMGKY ( Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojana )- Economic Relief Package of Rs 1.70 Lakh Crore which includes #DBT schemes to benefit around 40 Crore population.

Under this #DBT Schemes
20 crore Women with #JanDhan Acs to be given Rs.500 for 3 months
3 crore Poor Senior Citizen/Widows/Divyang to be given Rs.1000
5 crore family to be given wages under #MNREGA
8.69 crore farmers to be given Rs 2,000 each.
63 lakh women SHGs loans

As 98% of such accounts are with Public sector Banks only, Bankers were given task to distribute money under #PMGKY scheme through
95,0000 Branches
8 lakh Bank staffs
40 crore Beneficiaries

It means crowd of 400-600 customers daily in branches.

Those who announced schemes should had given some thought that,

In #COVID__19 situation maintaining #SocialDistance would be tough task for 4-8 branch staffs for 500 crowd and service them.

But No announcement made on implementation part of scheme.

From 30th March onwards, Bankers start witnessing crowd in branches making enquires on the money sent by Govt to their ACs.

Bankers given feedback to Mgmt & @DFS_India @DebasishPanda87 @nsitharaman

So they announced new Odd/even rule to distribute money & send SMS.

Once msg sent to mostly poor & uneducated, rush was increase to enquire about the Msg now.

And banker were surprised how so much crowd coming even in #LockDown situation.

Bankers were not provided any protection gear from infections till then.

Once scheme started on 3rd April onwards, there were huge crowd outside Branches, mostly in Rural areas & Urban slum areas.

Bankers started distributing money under #PMGKY through DBT scheme.

But there was no support to maintain #SocialDistancing

So taken few steps.

Started given token to Customers.
Entry of few customers in premises.
Made circles on ground to maintain #SocialDistance
Half staff outside to maintain crowd.

But it was not sufficient, so many asked for police help from local authorities too.

Some Proactive District authorities & police provided help & patrolling outside Bank Branches, but some have started blame game on Bankers to manage crowd outside banks.

They started issuing notices, misbehaving with Bankers, abusing & even manhandling them in branches.

How Can we service 500 people daily with ensuring #SocialDistance without support from local police & district administration?

Plz Ask Home ministry to help Bankers in State.

Situation will get out of control as almost all State Govt are making announcement for relief schemes all through #DBT and Banks only.

Bankers also need to be given Insurance like those people working as essential services in #LockDown to fight against #COVID__19

@DFS_India @nsitharaman @DebasishPanda87 must direct all Banks for insurance of 50Lacs to all Bankers against Corona.

As Banks are only place where hundreds of crowd getting assembled every day, so Bankers must be tested for #COVID__19 every week.

Else they can infect many customers if found positive. Banks can spread community infection making India to Stage 3.

Our Goal is to fight with #CoronaVirus

But for State Govt, they seems to be encashing the situation to make their vote bank strong by distributing cash on the name of relief schemes.

Don't shift Goal from fighting Corona to distributing the money.

It's duty of State/District Police to manage the Crowds, but rather doing their duties, they issuing notice to Bankers to maintain #SocialDistancing
