2. The locusts that are coming to East Africa are younger locusts which means they eat more and eat more aggressively.

3. The level of crop destruction these locusts can inflict is cataclysmic. Food insecurity will spiral out of control in a region that can't afford any more food insecurity. 5. Al-Shabaab, the terrorist group which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda, is based in East Africa. It will undoubtedly take advantage of any unrest that comes out of this crisis. 6. Food insecurity/collapse of an economy will only lead to the poaching/hunting of endangered animals. It's understandable, people need money and food
